Visit to Flood-Affected Areas of Belait District

KUALA BELAIT

 

Floods that hit several places in the Belait District recently have affected 12 homes and 63 residents. 5 affected houses are located in Kampong Sungai Mau; one in Jalan Laid Lakang; 4 in Jalan Kandul and another two houses in Jalan Merangking Hilir.

                                                                          

 The delegation of Yang Berhormat the Minister of Home Affairs was firstly briefed on the latest flood situation. Apart from affecting several homes, the road was also inundated by water up to 0.5 metre high. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Member of the Legislative Council who is the Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi; Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof,  Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Retired Colonel Pengiran Haji Maidin bin Pengiran Haji Said, Director of the National Disaster Management Centre and Acting Director of Fire and Rescue, as well as Awang Abdul Hazis bin Haji Ahad, the Acting Belait District Officer.
